Well, what a first season it has been! We want to thank you for the memories! We are really looking forward to next season and we hope that it will only get better every year.
The Resort will be fully closed as of October 10, 2022,
This includes the boat launch as it will be under construction during the remainder of October and will be unavailable to the public as we work to upgrade the area, road and docks for our resort guests and the public.
We look forward to seeing you all in May, 2023 when we open back up for the season.
Please note the following for the upcoming busy season:All Guests must Check In and Check Out, no exceptions!
Our check-in time is from 3pm until 6pm, if you are going to be later than 6pm please call and let us know.
Late check-in includes any arrivals after 9pm and must be pre-arranged ahead of time or a late check-in fee will apply.
For both Cabins and Campsites, you must check in at the Store Office, this is so we can check in your party, including any pets you have, go over important information & talk about any boat rentals you wish to make during your stay.
There is no self-service after the Store closes, we will do an evening ‘last call’ for firewood, however firewood, ice, propane and store goods are not available after hours.
Check out time is BEFORE 11am. We are a staff of four, and need the time from 11 until 3 to turn over the cabins and prepare for the next guests. If you are checking out later than this you will be levied a $50.00 late check out fee. Please be checked out prior to 11am.
All Guests must check out, this is to ensure your bill is settled correctly and to your satisfaction.
We look forward to the upcoming busy season and providing you with an incredible stay and experience. We understand that some of these changes are different than last year, however we hope to provide great service equally to all our customers during this busy season and also maintain our work-life balance.
We are completely booked in the cabins from May long weekend until the end of September, Thank you!
Campsites are booking up fast as well.
We are averaging 30-40 emails a day and about the same amount of phone calls. We are attempting to answer all of your requests so please be patient with us.
Things are progressing at the resort. Work is taking place with new paint and décor in the washhouse. The store is being updated. When you first arrive you will be greeted with a new Resort sign that is beautiful!
hopefully it will stop snowing long enough to get the outside work finished up.
Everyday we see a little more sun and the days are getting longer. I can’t wait for green grass and +20 weather!
Sara and I have been working hard to prepare for the upcoming season. There is so much to do but one of the most enjoyable things has been connecting with you all!
As we go into March, Sara and I are moving from our place in Chilliwack up to our other place at Green Lake in the Cariboo for March. The first week of April we will move again to the residence at Echo Lake and start to prepare for your arrival in May! So much to do and so little time.
So we will not be responding to emails until Monday March 07. That same week we will start taking deposits for cabins and confirming your reservations.
Again, Sara and I are excited to meet you all this season!
Echo Lake Resort is booking fast! With 68 days left before the 2022 season at Echo Lake kicks off, our cabins are fully booked for most of June to September. There are always cancellations so get your name on that list! Both Sara and I are here to help and hopefully we can answer all your questions. Sara and I want to thank you for your patience as we madly learn the booking software and all the important things to know about you, our guests, as well as the inner workings of the resort.
We will be putting out a survey during your stay at the cabins or pick one up from the office/store. It will help us to understand your needs while at the resort as well as see what you think about the future of Echo Lake Resort.
Until next time, keep getting ready for lazy summer days and cool night with us!
(this is my nickname and was my grandfathers name so feel free to call me by it!)
It is with great pleasure that we, John Elley & Sara Spearman, introduce ourselves to you as the new Owners of Echo Lake Resort. We want to thank Corey & Kira and the Kmyta family for entrusting us with the Resort and all of their hard work over the years. We are excited to meet all of our campers & guests this season!
Sara grew up in sunny Tsawwassen in a home surrounded by forest and sea and has lived in the Lower Mainland her whole life. Every summer was spent at her family’s rustic cabin on the shores of Green Lake in the Cariboo and Echo Lake feels like home already. When not rowing, swimming, or fishing, you can find her building, designing and crafting.
John has an avid love for nature and the outdoors. His childhood memories are of being at his family dairy farm in Chemainus BC, working hard with his grandpa and uncles, and spending time fishing the local pond on the farm. His love of nature has led him to hunt and fish in a sustainable manner both in BC and Alberta, respecting the environment and the wildlife surrounding him. John’s two daughters are his pride and joy, and his first granddaughter is arriving in March.
Sara & John met while working for the BC Government as Investigators and have worked for over 25 years in Public Safety and Emergency Services careers. Sara has worked for the City of Vancouver, RCMP and BC Provincial government and John’s careers have seen him working as a Paramedic, Peace Officer, Volunteer Fire Fighter and a Community Coroner. John has owned and operated businesses including fire safety equipment and worked as an Area Director for the non-profit organization called Young Life.
Many of you have reservations and starting in March, we’ll be contacting you to confirm your bookings. Please check the Cabins & Campground pages for 2022 Rates.
There will be a new entry sign! We are in the process of design, and it will be unveiled on our website in April.
We are committed to the growth of the resort and making your stay even nicer. Over the next couple of years, we will be upgrading the power grid and moving lines underground, so you only see the beauty that surrounds Echo Lake Resort. We are hoping to build an accessible washroom and update the cabins. The resort will see a refresh of color to the buildings and structures with historical themes and a Monashee Mountain / Echo Lake feel.
We will retain the peaceful, family-oriented experience of Echo Lake Resort as well as protect the Provincial Park’s natural beauty. We hope you join us on this adventure and know that you are welcome to make suggestions and comments along the way. We look forward to serving our customers and being amazing stewards of Echo Lake and the Resort.
Another awesome season at Echo Lake Resort is coming to a close. This Thanksgiving long weekend marks the end of our 2017 season and we would just like to thank all of this seasons great guests, both new and return – it was truly our pleasure to have you up to enjoy our property and the endless beauty that surrounds it.
We would like to say farewell and good luck to our office managers of the past 2 years, Allison and Dean. They are off to new beginnings and to take on their web design business, Okanagan Creative Designs, full time with offices out of Vernon – if any of you are at all interested in web design services with a familiar face, please feel free to contact us for their details.
We would also like to welcome our new office managers and resort care takers, Ward and Sherry. These two have a great back ground in the hospitality business and after spending the previous season at Lumby Lions Campground have graciously accepted our offer to move on up to Echo Lake.
Throughout this current season we have been taking bookings for the 2018 season and will continue to take inquiries by phone up until mid October, at this time we will shutting down the office and although the phone lines will be up we ask that you visit our webpage and fill out a request availability form, as we will only be accepting email inquiries throughout the off season. Once received we will get back to you shortly with any potential details on future reservations.
We wish you all a great fall and winter season and look forward to seeing your bright smiling faces in the spring and summer of 2018!
Summer has officially started here at Echo Lake Resort! The forecast is telling us some blue skies and heat is expected for the next while so to all our guests staying with us this summer.. don’t forget the SPF ;).
Just wanted to touch base with all guests who are inquiring for our summer season. As of July and August we will no longer be accepting reservation requests over the phone. We will still be accepting calls from guests who are calling in their information to confirm a booking made by email.
As we have JUST finished the Long Weekend, we wanted to send out a special THANK YOU to our guests who stayed with us! This past weekend was a dream – the weather was perfect, the family games were happening, and the resort was filled with laughter! It was great to see so many families having fun together and getting to know their neighbours. And let’s not forget the show of patriotism…. the resort was FILLED with Canadian flags everywhere!! Absolutely awesome!!
Here’s just a few shots of our eventful weekend 🙂
