Policies & Rules

Remember, Echo Lake Resort is a private Family Campground located in a BC Provincial Park!
Please read before making reservations.

  • Daily Hours 8 am – 9 pm (gate closed overnight)
  • Check In 3 pm: All guests must check in before heading to campsite or cabin. Late check-ins will result in a $25.00 fine (at the discretion of the owners)
  • Check Out 11 am (for cabins and campgrounds): All guests must settle their invoice before departing the Resort.
  • After Hours Arrivals: Call ahead to arrange.

Cell Service & Wifi

  • The resort has limited cellular service available.
  • There is limited WIFI available at the store on the patio. No streaming please.

Store

  • Daily Hours 9 am – 12 noon | 2 pm – 6 pm
  • The Store sells propane tank fills, ice, basic groceries, fishing supplies and treats.
  • Firewood is available for $8 per bundle without kindling and $10 per bundle with cedar kindling.
  • Boat Rentals, waivers, life jackets and paddles are available at the Store.
  • Guests may run a tab (charge to Cabin or Campsite) for rentals & store items during their stay with a valid credit card. Children must have permission to charge.

Wash House

  • Men’s and Women’s washrooms offer hot showers ($2 per use), toilets and sinks.
  • Do NOT wash dirty dishes, clothing or clean fish in the Wash House.
  • Closed daily for Cleaning Noon – 2:00 pm

Resort Quiet Hours from 10 pm – 8 am

  • All sound/music/electronic devices must be turned off during quiet hours as not to disturb other campers (keep voices low).
  • During the day noise must be contained within your site.
  • Offensive behavior/loud music is not allowed at any time.
  • Zero tolerance for parties.
  • You will only be warned twice, then you will be asked to leave. You will not be refunded any fees and a fine of $250.00 will be charged to your credit card.

Parking is limited

  • Vehicle registration is required and you must park at your site or at designated areas only.
  • Day Visitors must check in and register with the office.

Echo Lake Resort manages public access to the Boat Launch

  • The lake is small, boat wake is damaging to the shoreline, therefore boats are restricted to 10 HP or less, no exceptions.
  • Boat Launch Fee is $5.00 per boat, payable at the Store before launching.
  • Parking is limited, call ahead to find out if there is room to park.
  • Vehicle registration is required.

Resort

  • Management reserves the right to restrict the number of people, tents or RVs at any site.
  • Maximum one (1) vehicle at any Campsite or Cabin. Extra vehicles may be parked in designated parking for an additional fee.
  • Any items damaged or removed from the Resort, its Cabins, Campsites, Wash House, boats, or other property found to be done by guests or their visitors, will be repaired and/or replaced and charged to the guest’s credit card.

Reservations

  • Taken on a first come, first served basis. Managers reserve the right to limit future/ next season bookings to make the Resort available to more and new guests.

  • Call us at 250-547-6434 or 1-877-547-6434 and leave a voice message.
  • Guests will be confirmed by Managers at or just prior to the Operating Season and confirmation emails and invoices will be provided.

Bookings

  • A valid credit card is required to confirm a reservation.
  • A one (1) night, non-refundable deposit for each Cabin booked is required.
  • We do not accept bookings for Stags, Stagettes, Bachelor or Bachelorette parties. If you disregard our policy and book this kind of gathering, we will apply a $350 per night charge to your credit card and you will run the risk of being asked to leave and not return. This is a family fishing resort, not a party place.

Cancellations

  • Campsite: If a reservation is cancelled up to fourteen (14) days before arrival, a $10 administration charge per booked night will be applied. If a reservation is cancelled less than fourteen (14) days before arrival, you will be charged for all nights reserved.
  • Cabins: If a reservation is cancelled over thirty (30) days before arrival, the deposit paid is not refunded. If a reservation is cancelled less than thirty (30) days before arrival, you will be charged for all nights reserved.

Campsites

  • A maximum of four (4) adults and two (2) children under twelve (12) per site.
  • RVs and tents must be placed within the campsite boundaries.
  • There are no water or sewer hook-ups. Waste and Grey Water must be disposed off resort. Pouring waste water on open ground or in sump holes dug beneath trailers is prohibited.
  • Check out time is before 11:00am.

Cabins

  • A one (1) night, non-refundable deposit for each Cabin is required at time of booking.
  • Each Cabin has a person maximum, see Cabin page for details.
  • Each Cabin has an assigned Outhouse for guest use in addition to Wash House.
  • Cleanliness/ Damage:
    • Return the cabin to the clean condition in which you found it at check-in.
    • Deposit garbage and recyclables into the receptacles provided.
    • Leave campfire and deck areas clean.
    • All dishes, cookware and cutlery must be cleaned prior to check out or a $25 charge will be applied to the credit card on file.
    • In the event your cabin is not returned to its original condition, a $100 charge will be applied to the credit card on file.
    • If damages are found to your Cabin or its contents, you will be charged for the repairs or replacements required.

Rental Boats

  • Rentals: see Activities page for Rates and types of available boats. A valid credit card must be provided with a completed Rental Agreement form.
  • The Resort has a dedicated rental fishing boat dock, for all other rental watercraft, see staff for orientation.
  • Fishing Licenses: only available online https://j100.gov.bc.ca/pub/ras/signin.aspx
  • Must have: Pleasure Craft Operator Card or complete Boating Waiver Form.
  • Caution: Boaters must use caution to avoid rocks, stumps and snags, some of which are not easily visible.

Swimming

  • The Resort has a dedicated swimming dock for guest & visitor use.
  • Parents must accompany children at all times when using the lake and dock.
  • Caution: there is NO LIFEGUARD on duty and you swim at your own risk.

Drinking Water

  • The Resort is run entirely on well water which is safe to drink and great tasting!
  • Four (4) water hydrants for personal guest use are located by the Store, Cabin 6, Cabin 12 and Campsite 1. Do not allow pets to drink directly from the water hydrants.
  • We encourage water conservation practices during your stay to preserve the supply, to keep our septic healthy and to reduce waste water that could impact the Echo Lake ecosystem.

Dish Cleaning

  • Clean dishes at your campsite or cabin with eco-friendly soap (bring with you or available for purchase in the Store).
  • Do not pour grease down any sink at the resort. Let cool, then use paper towel to absorb the grease and place in the garbage.

Fish Cleaning, Garbage & Recycling

  • There are currently no fish cleaning stations at the Resort. Please clean fish as you would treat other meat products, at your campsite or cabin and bag the waste up tightly to prevent smell and attracting animals.
  • Dispose of bagged Pet poop in garbage receptacles.
  • DO NOT PUT FISH WASTE DOWN CABIN SINKS! Fines will apply.
  • DO NOT BRING FISH INTO THE WASH HOUSE! Fines will apply.
  • All garbage and recycling is taken off the resort at great expense. Please help us keep costs down by minimizing single use plastics and diverting recyclables (glass, plastic, cardboard) and returnables where possible. At this time, we cannot divert organics.

Outhouses & Septic System (a word about what goes down)

  • NO GARBAGE, DIAPERS, PET POOP BAGS or other non-septic friendly items!
  • Septic-grade toilet paper & human waste only.
  • Advise Managers if the Wash House or Outhouses need our attention.

Resort Speed Limit 15 km/h & Driving

  • Please drive & ride SLOWLY and obey the 15 km/hr limit and WATCH for people, children and pets on the roadway. This will minimize dust on dry roads.
  • Stay parked at your site, do not idle or wash vehicles.
  • If Guests need to use a vehicle (including scooters, bicycles, golf carts) for mobility or convenience, common sense will apply.
  • ATVs & Dirtbikes are permitted on trailer only and must be used outside of Echo Lake Provincial Park: no starting, maintenance or driving at the Resort.

Children’s Play Structure

  • Small children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Immediately notify Managers of injury. First Aid station is located at the Store.
  • The Resort and its Managers and Staff are not liable for any injuries that occur as a result of using the play structure.

Campfires are permitted in designated firepits only

  • Guests are responsible for keeping their fire under control. Echo Lake Resort is not protected by a Fire Department, if there is a fire, we must extinguish it ourselves.
  • Campfires must be kept inside the designated firepit (no bigger than 0.5m x 0.5m or about 19”h x 19” w). Do not relocate the firepit.
  • Campfires MUST be attended to at all times and completely put out when you are finished enjoying them.
  • Only burn wood and non-coated paper (do not burn garbage, plastic, metal or glass).
  • Do not scavenge fire wood from around the Resort, this is prohibited in BC Parks.
  • Propane fire pits are allowed at Campsites and outside Cabins (not on Cabin decks).
  • Check the Store for current campfire conditions.

Generators 

  • Permitted to run in campsites daily between 9am-11am & 6pm-8pm

  • We prefer inverter generators & solar panels!

Smoking, Vaping and Cannabis are permitted at your designated camping site

  • Not permitted inside Cabins, Store, Wash House or the swim area.
  • Do not carry around the Resort. The fire hazard is too great.
  • Use ashtrays & dispose of cold butts in garbage cans.
  • There is a $250.00 fine imposed if you are found to be violating this policy.

Alcohol is only permitted at your designated camping site or Cabin by those of legal age (19 in British Columbia)

Emergencies

  • Any Emergencies please report to Managers at the resort. The Managers are trained in first aid.
  • First Aid Station is located at the Store.
  • In the case of a medical emergency, please call 911 for an ambulance and let Managers know immediately to render lifesaving first aid. After hours, please knock on the Manager’s Residence for assistance.
  • In the case of a Fire, immediately tell the Managers as they have on site fire fighting equipment and will contact the appropriate services.

Prohibited Items

  • Firecrackers & Fireworks (if it bangs, explodes or lights up, leave it at home).
  • Firearms of any kind, replica or real, pellet, bb or paint (if it looks like a gun, leave it at home).
  • Slingshots, bow & arrows, projectile shooters of any kind.
  • Drones are Prohibited in BC Parks: https://bcparks.ca/visiting/parks-and-drones/

Management reserves the right to refuse service and any offence of the above, or otherwise, which disrupts peace, safety or enjoyment of persons at the Resort, may result in the offender being asked to leave the Resort without refund. The fine for choosing to ignore any of the above Resort Rules is $100 unless otherwise stated.

LIABILITY: All persons using the resort facilities do so at your own risk.
Echo Lake Resort Managers & staff are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, death, loss or damage to personal property. Parents are responsible for children for the duration of their stay.
