Looks like spring is around the corner, the sun gets all the way over Denison Mountain now and things have started to melt. Its been a good start to March so far. RAIN today, finally we could get some of the plumbing done in our new washhouse that had to wait for an above zero day.
To end our winter season here we had the Vernon Scout Troop come for a winter camping trip. They camped out in tents and a few of the boys even slept the night in a snow cave. They were all smiles the next day, and they assured us they were warm enough sleeping with their feet sticking out of their snow fort, which is just beyond my comprehension! They were a pleasure to have stay with us though. Their leader Kevin was teaching them “Leave No Trace” camping, and about volunteer service, having them offer to help us out around the resort the next day as a thank you. If only we hadn’t stacked all our firewood already! So they were off the hook to play tag in the sunshine on the lake.
Now we are getting ready to shift gears. If this warm weather keeps up the lake will thaw in no time and we will have people looking to come up fishing before we know it. I have been getting bookings like crazy, so if you want to come out for the August Long Weekend I would suggest giving us a call as soon as you can, we’ve only got one cabin left!
