It was a busy end of June, but we managed to get some time in with friends up here before everything booked up for the season!
First we had a family friend up, Rob, and his friend Kevin. As usual, they found the way to our hearts with food. The suppers they created on the fire were just ridiculous! Lobster, fire-grilled pizza and chicken wings, amazing deer meat seared on the fire, the list goes on! After they left we immediately started testing recipes, trying to find the perfect fire-grilled pizza recipe. Corey has his heart set on selling them in the store next year or even running a small pizza shop. Kids love camping, kids love pizza, how can you go wrong? If this all works out you guys will have Rob and Kevin to thank, though for now I don’t mind pizza-testing every evening in the back yard.
The next week I helped those schemers out at Beaver Lake Resort surprise Corey here. They all showed up under fake names, and I don’t think he realized even though 6 of these hooligans were here all on the same day until one of them let it slip that they were staying in a Cabin. We ended up having quite a big Beaver Lake invasion up here, and they brought all the fixings for a great steak dinner. Adrian, the owner of Beaver Lake, and his son Jeremy spent all evening out on the lake and Jeremy caught his very first fish not from his own Beaver Lake, and Hank and Marg went out on a different lake than Beaver for the first time in 25 years. It was a really nice evening, and we really appreciated having them come out to see us, Corey was starting to wonder why none of his friends had been up for a visit yet!
Looking forward to years of (mostly) friendly visits with this great group of people!
